X60s with Windows 7 will not sleep

I have installed fresh install fo windows 7
Updated all from windows update
Still the machine will never go to sleep after one successful sleep/wakeup cycle
Help please

I have the same problem. Lenovo doesn't know what the issue is, or the solution. I'm discovering its just something we have to learn to live with. Never close the lid while powered. Never sleep. Never hibernate. Just off or on.

So is this just an X60 issue? Sleep (Standby) works perfectly on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit T61p. Since this machine was a Vista Preload, I installed a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 Pro from scratch and then installed the applicable Lenovo tools. There is a Win7 version for Lenovo Power Manager which I installed and which works in harmony with Windows 7 Power Manager. ... JDH

I believe Lenovo doesn't know what the issue is. I cannot believe they can't figure it out. After all the BIOS in my T61p permits flawless sleep (including overnight) and wakeup. Never failed. So one would think that the code in my BIOS could be replicated in an X series machine or whatever. ... JDH

It's not a generic problem with the X61 series. My X61T (specs in signature) also sleeps/hibernates/wakes flawlessly. Have you run the Windows 7 energy report to see if it gives you a clue to the cause?

From an elevated command prompt, type powercfg /? to see the help file, then powercfg -energy to run the report. It takes about a minute to generate a report, which will be an html file located in the current path. Perhaps there will be a clue in the report.

This is what i have been dealing with and im sick of it, especially on a premium computer.

I have re-formatted many times to no avail.

For what it's worth my X60s sleeps and hibernates on windows 7 perfectly.

I've used Windows 7 RC for the past months and sleep works perfectly.
Installed Windows 7 Ultimate Retail 4 days ago, and sleep still works perfectly.

Did you install and update the drivers with the ones from Lenovo? Or are you using the drivers provided my microsoft.

Try to update the powermanager / acpi drivers with drivers from lenovo.
I also have the latest bios on my X60(don't know if this means something).

I encountered this problem on a W500 and fixed it.

When Windows 7 was first installed, and before installing the Lenovo Power Manager, everything worked well.

After installing the Lenovo Power Manager, the system would either a) not go to sleep or b) not wake up from sleep.

The answer was to open up the Lenovo Power Manager, go to Global Power Settings, go to the Events category, and enable all the events (lid, Fn+F4, power button) for all power plans.

I suspect that LPM took over handling of power events from Windows, but the defaults were not correctly set, so neither LPM nor Windows were handling the events.
