Are you sure it's not one or both thumbs that's causing the problem? If so, you will probably find that this happens with most or all touchpads, until you learn to avoid it by holding your thumbs away from the touchpad. This is a drawback of using touchpads on laptops that you have to get used to. (You can also disable the touchpad and get used to using the trackpoint.)
well.. i've no such problem with my T43 though.. maybe it's just because x100e is a bit smaller.. haha..

I think it all depends on what kind of work you do and how you plan to use the ultraportable, whichever you ultimately decide on. BTW the Edge in my opinion is a consumer notebook and doesn't evoke an image of being a business machine. More like a cutesy notebook for a student or artist (nothing wrong with being an artist). The choice between an X201, X100e or an older X series comes down to how much you will use it. If you are going to use it everyday, seems to me your will get your mileage out of the dollars you spend and you are better off getting an X201 or older X series. If its just an occasional usage ie long or short distance travel and convenience weight issue where you arent going to do heavy duty work on it for hours on end, the X100e seems like a practical choice and evokes a professional image for you. Few people buy a car and keep it in the garage only to drive it ocassionally. I think you should think about it that way.

Update us on what you decide to do and how you like what you choose. I would not go the route of a netbook (not classifying the X100e as a netbook) as I really dont think it will give you the power you want and a 10" screen is simply too small to be used for anything but the Internet. Simply put, its nothing but a vanity toy IMO. Your iPhone or Blackberry offers the same capabilities which is surfing the Net to look at something you really dont need to read or do IMO except for the rare ocassion IMO.
