X301 temps, which should I be worried about?
Using HW monitor and Tpfancontrol.
The "ACPI" thread lists "TM0" and "TM1" which read 43*C and 39*C respectively.
Under "Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo SU9400" temperatures, "Core 0" and "Core 1" read 32*C and 33*C respectively.
The Toshiba 120gb 5400rpm drive is at 30*C, which i am not concerned about. All are idle temps.
Which probes should I use for my fan temp triggers? The ACPI temps are what TPfancontrol uses as the "CPU" temperature, but the actual core temps are much lower. Tpfancontrol reports 60*C load temps, while the cores are only at 45*C or so.

ACPI/TPFanControl. The temperatures you are getting for HW Monitor don't seem right at all.
When I use Core Temp to monitor the CPU temperatures on my laptop I get numbers much closer to TPFanControl.

Re: X301 temps, which should I be worried about?
Ok, i am getting conflicting readings from each program
TPFancontrol reports 54*C for "CPU"
CoreTemp reports 45*C and 46*C for core 0 and 1 respectively
HWMonitor reports 52*C for THM0, 47*C for THM1, and 40*C and 41*C for core 0 and 1 respectively
Rightmark agrees with HWMonitor and reports 40*C and 41*C for core 0 and 1 respectively
I just dont know what to believe

Core Temp is, in my opinion, the hands down best tool for measuring CPU temperatures. I am, however, not alone in thinking it provides the most accurate readings of all the available programs. The Core Temp team works really hard and a lot of enthusiasts, such as myself, choose Core Temp.

I guess I will use coretemp then
Random question, but do you know if there is any way to get the thinkvantage button to glow? It only glows blue during POST as far as I can tell.
