Windows 7 or XP?

Which runs best on a x41 w/SSD?

And yes im aware of Ubuntu 9.10, im not into command prompts though.
X41-1.5GHz, 1.0 GB RAM, 32GB SSD, Ubuntu 9.10

I have Win7 running on X41, X40, X32 with SSD. Most PATA SSD that fits in to X40/X41 will not support TRIM properly. But that doesn't mean that you cannot do the same thing manually. There are various posts in the SSD stickie above that outline what you need to do.

I'm using Ubuntu and other Linux flavors since years and the command prompt is something I rarely use. And then only when I want to do some kind of "exotic" installation.

and what about IDE to CF adapter with CF card, will be there any problem with installing windows 7 on it ?

I've found out in my distro-hopping that accessing the terminal for issuing a command is almost second nature now and sometimes a god-send!

There are some times that using the CLI is the easiest thing in the world to do when installing packages, programs, modifying settings, and downloading updates.

Far easier than using the GUI interface that I had been used to.
