Docked ThinkPad won't recognize USB devices

#1 Post by moltar » Thu Jan 21, 2010 9:25 am

I have ThinkPad T61p 6459 with Windows 7 Professional. Recently, 2-3 days ago, when I dock the computer, mouse and keyboard do not work. I have two docking stations, the same behaviour on both. If I unplug the mouse/keyboard and plug it directly into the computer, they both work. If I leave it plugged in into the docking station and restart the computer, they will also start to work. There was no other workarounds I could figure out. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Not here on a T61 w/Win7 Ultimate and Advanced Mini Dock. I never seem to have issues with low voltage USB peripherals on my mini dock, but I do see this happen with multiple external (bus powered) HDDs. Of course, those issues happen with most usb hubs as well.
