IBM Rapid Restore on new HDD

#1 Post by john1in2 » Thu Jan 21, 2010 6:52 pm

I am trying to install a 250 GB HD to replace my 50 GB internal HDD and am doing a rapid restore from CDs on bootup.

Do I need to format the 250 GB HDD before the restore operation (using a usb enclosure drive or the like) or will the restore operation do it?

I didn't format the disk but If I need to how should I partition it? I heard you cannot have a partition over 120 GB on XP natively?

Not true.
I've had many XP configurations with a partition over that size.
