#1 Post by Luigim » Fri Jan 22, 2010 8:07 am

Hi all
my w500 4062-rf4 is supposed to have a built in modem, I can't seem to initiilaize it, downloaded latest modem driver still no luck
it has a phone jack does it follow it has a modem or did someone forget to stick it in there?

Ps my 770z is still going strong after 11 years!

Product: ThinkPad W500 4062-RF4 [change]
Operating system: All [change]

Original description: Refurb from 4062-26U: T9600(2.8GHz), 4GB RAM, 200GB 7200rpm FDE HD, 15.4in 1920x1200 LCD, 512MB ATI FireGL V5700, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, FPR, Camera, 9c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 32

Yes, it should have a modem. Here's the correct driver. Try that.

The above driver link assumes you are running Windows 7. Make sure to read ALL printed material at that link with regard to installation instructions. If that doesn't work contact Lenovo. Does your refurb have a warranty?

I'm running vista 64, I ran the appropriate driver, however the message is "driver installation failed: could not find the MODEM device for this driver"
DEVICE MANAGER has no modem entry.
I have emailed lenovo support
thanks
