How To Prevent Display From Switching to Security Screen?

#1 Post by Roadster » Fri Jan 22, 2010 12:40 pm

How do I prevent my T500 display from automatically switching to the fingerprint security screen after a very brief interval? :?:

For some reason, my display automatically switches to the fingerprint security screen after ~ 5 minutes of inactivity.

The machine's current settings are as follows:

1) The machine is running on A/C power.

2) The Windows 7 Screen Saver is set to "None".

3) The Power Manager settings are on "Maximum Performance".

4) The Power Manager "Idle Timers" are:

Dim Display (Never)
Lower Refresh Rate (Never)
Turn off Display (Never)
Enter System Standby (Never)
Enter System Hibernation (Never)

5) The Fingerprint Reader Setting for "Inactivity Log-off Settings" (i.e., the box labeled "Duration of Inactivity Before Logging Off"), is UN-checked, so the default number is greyed out.

Despite the above settings, the display STILL automatically switches to the fingerprint security screen after ~5 minutes of inactivity.

What am I missing here? :?:

Is there some hardware BIOS setting that I'm not aware of? Or maybe some Windows 7 setting that I'm overlooking? I've checked every possible avenue that I can think of, and I am truly stumped. :help:

Any helpful tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Stab in the dark: right click desktop, Personalize, Screen Saver, "On resume, display logon screen"?

Wow! That did it! THANK YOU!!!

Since the Screen Saver was already set at "None", and that check-box was an indented option, the Screen Saver should have never engaged, and there would theoretically be nothing to "resume" from. Unfortunately, that was EXACTLY the problem.

Your stab in the dark, my friend, was right on target! Once again, thank you very much for your assistance! :D
