Control the fan speed for ThinkPad Advanced dock?

The two fans in my ThinkPad Advanced dock were running very quietly until I installed a graphics card into it. Now they are runing madly and the noise is really unbearable. I know from RonS's mini review that one can safely cut the wire to stop the main fan. But I was wondering if we can find a software solution like TPfancontrol to lower the fan speed for ThinkPad Advanced dock?
