PCLXDEos/PCLinuxOs and Thinkfinger

#1 Post by Aelon » Fri Jan 29, 2010 11:48 am

I have just started using this distro. I also have just gotten my first Thinkpad, (listed below)

It has a fingerprint reader which should be compatible with the Thinkfinger package, but it isnt in my repo.
I looked on pbone for rpm of it, but there are no PClinuxOS ones listed, so I dare not take this step blindly.
Has anyone successfully installed this from an RPm in this distro, and if so which of the many ones did you use?
My Z60t
1.8ghz Intel
1GB DDR2 RAM
120GB Sata HDD
Bluetooth and Wifi
Fingerprint thingy of doom :D
Arch Linux.

its based on mandriva, CAREFULLY give a mandriva rpm a try.

note added to explain my thinking.
(pclinuxos is a forked variant of mandiva, i THINK the last fork took place in 09 so i would bet they are mostly compatible)
