No Audio: Installed Win7 on my X41T

#1 Post by haraldnote » Sun Jan 31, 2010 11:03 pm

No Audio: Installed Win7 on my X41T. All seems ok. All drivers installed.
I get no audio on the X41T speaker, nor the dual speakers on the dock or any output on the headset connected to the speaker out port.
Volume is set High. Sounds are Windows default and produce no audio output.

Installed driver is SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio; "working properly"
Is this the correct driver? Lenovo lists no Audio driver for Win7.
Any ideas?

No idea why yours is not working, but IIRC, audio worked out of the box, no additional driver is needed.

Hope you find a solution soon.

I've installed Win7 in my X31 and T43p (and also in my X40 for a very short period of time) and never had any audio problems. My procedure was almost the following:

-After finishing the initial install, do immediately a windows udpate (Only for my X31, I've plugged the machine to an ethernet cable)
-After the update is finished (and you have rebooted your machine), install and run Lenovo's System Update software

With these simple steps windows has always installed audio, wireless and several TP specific software, in case of my T43p also the video drivers were recognized (the X31 needed some extra tweaking).

My 0,02 cents...

Cheers

Solved my Audio problem: needed to use the hardware controls; they override the software controls. Software volume was max, but hardware on top row above function keys was off.
