T43 CDROM issue

#1 Post by vooduguru » Mon Feb 01, 2010 12:35 am

When I put a CD in, and I open explorer, I see the drive, but then when I click on the DVD/CD-RW DRIVE (D:) it goes to a blank folder, and the led light on the DVDROM goes on, but that's it. Any suggestions to fix it or is it dead?

Your second guess is spot on.
Get another drive.

There is an excellent chance that the guy you got the T43 from has a combo drive that you can try and if that solves the problem, he just might make you a killer deal on the drive.

Could be broken, but please check with different media first and / or try a head clean/disk clean before declaring the drive unit dead.. could save you some money !
