Battery questions

My battery has gone out and I mainly use my T60 in my office plugged in..When I purchase a new battery should I leave it out until I plan on using it? would that make it last longer? Thanks

i know that the battery manager has options for not charging the batter while it is plugged in. i have setup different thresholds on mine, to start charging when below 15% and to stop charging at 97%. i have had no issue so far
