Reinstalling drivers in the T43

#1 Post by Erne » Wed Feb 03, 2010 1:02 pm

Hi everybody,
(I live in France, so forgive me for my bad english)

A few years ago I bought a used T43 model 1871W34, it all went fine but I get infected by a virus so I've decided formatting

Knowing that I didn't had the rescue disks, because the guy from who I bought it didn't had them, I find the Lenovo site where are plenty of drivers I told myself that I would be able to reinstalling all of them.

The problem is that I can't find the same drivers that I had before formatting the disk, the screens are different, the wireless card drivers also. I've downloaded so many drivers that I don't know which of them install.

I've seen also in your forum that perhaps there are other drivers that works better than those at Lenovo's?

If anyone can give me a full list of the drivers that I should install in my T43 model 1871W34 and where to get them I would thank you a lot!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!

Regards everyone.

Ernesto

Ernesto, download and install System Update. This app will locate and install all the drivers you need, based on your machines configuration.

Thank you very much for your quick answer!!

I've installed the missing drivers and everything works fine.

I'ill keep searching thogh for an utility that I had that grouped together the bluetooth and the internet, I used to activate it by pressing Fn+F5 and other that showed the volume levels in the screen in green bars when I pressed the keys to increase-decrease the audio.

Regards.

Ernesto.

Ernesto,

Welcome to the forum. I have a 1871-FWG which is very similar to yours, and I have a set of factory recovery disks for it. So don't despair ... help is always not that far away.

It is worth you trying to see if you can create your own recovery disks.

Go to Start, All Programs, ThinkVantage, and one of the options is Create Recovery Media. This can only be used once. If it has already been used then that is that. However, if it allows you to proceed, then go ahead and create the factory install CDs.

If you need assistance then I am always happy to try to help. You can always send me a PM.
I shall be near Lyon within the month. My wife and I are travelling to the Auvergne, Provence, Tarentaise, and Beaujolais regions ... in that order. Most of those are very close to Lyon.

Anyway, it sounds like you have everything back to normal so good luck.

Salut. :)

Hello and excuse me for the late answer.
Thank you for you message and you help, I couldn't use the support CD's because the person from whom I bought the TPad had already use that function... :(
Neverless everything works fine now, except for the internet connection. I can't get Access Connections to connect automaticly to the internet at startup, I must do it manually...
I hop you will spend a great time in France with your wife, the places you told me that you're going to be are really wonderfull!!
Enjoy your hollyday in France and let me know if you need a "tourist tip" of places to visit etc...

Thanks again.
Ernesto.
