FS: ThinkPad UltraBay Thin CDRW/DVD Drive for T40/T41/T42etc

#1 Post by darrenf » Wed Jun 09, 2004 7:30 pm

I have two CD-RW/DVD combo drives and will sell them together or separately.

The first drive is a pull from a T41. I used it for a month before upgrading to a DVD multi-burner. I don't have the kit model #, but the FRU is 92P6581 and the ASM P/N is 13N6781. The manufacturer's model number is UJDA755 and the manufacture date is February 2004. The speed (from IBM's website) is "16X/10X/24X/8X Max."

The second drive is an opened new-in-box replacement kitted with documentation, pouch, etc. The P/N on the kit is 22P7011, the FRU is 08K9865 and the ASP P/N is 08K9862. The manufacturer's model number is UJDA745 and the manufacture date is March 2003. The speed is listed as "16X/10X/24X/8X Max."

I will sell one for $100 or both for $180 (plus actual shipping costs). PayPal is preferred for payment.

PM me if interested!

How much was the multiburner? I am getting a education model T42 and it comes with a cd-rw/dvd combo drive. How much is the multiburner. Did you install it yourself? Also what will I have to give up to put in the multiburner.
I plan on having this computer as long as my Toshiba which was five years so it is really important that sometime in the future I get a Dvd-r. I however think they are a lot more common than people think and more Ts should be offfered with them at my school.

The T4x Multi-Burner is $399 from IBM, plus tax, plus shipping.

It's a 2X DVD-RW, no DVD+RW write capability. For less than 1/2 that amount you can get an 8x DVD+/- R/RW USB2.0 external burner.

IMHO, save your money.

First drive is sold. The second drive, Kit P/N 22P7011, is still available and I'm dropping my asking price to $90 OBO.
