Have you experienced instability or the dreaded "blue screen" since applying this fix?

Certainly no blue screens. I do often see that some program needs to close when shutting down (usually SeaMonkey), but I don't know that this particular hotfix has anything to do with it. Overall, Windows 7 Professional (32-bit) seems pretty reliable here.

I have that fix installed (January 27th). My Windows 7 Pro 64-bit has not blue screened at all (nor did Vista 64-bit , XP Pro, Windows 2000 and Windows NT4 before that). So it is really difficult to tell if has improved reliability. I had a bout of QuickBooks issues (fixed for the most part) that took my reliability score down to 2 about a month ago. It is up near 10 again and I am not having any problems. ... JDH

Learn something new all the time. I didn't know about the Windows 7 "reliability score" (thanks, JDH). Found it with "Help and Support". I see over the past 2-3 weeks I have had Windows Explorer crash twice, on 1/28 and 2/6. The hotfix was installed 1/27.

Look down in the System Tray at the double up-arrow. This points to the hidden icons. Likely Action Center is hidden. Click on Action Center to open -> Maintenance -> View Reliability History.

You can also type reliab in the start button and it should show there as well. Enjoy it. I check any errors (which in turns helps me correct things and improve the score). ... JDH

Yes, thank you very much, jdh. Looking at my reliability score, I see that I had a major problem (which I knew) on 1/29/10 installing PastPerfect 4.0 trial edition. Since then, no problems, and back to a score of 10. I did not know this tool existed.
