I saw this too a few days ago, and the seller has added a few more pictures since then. So what exactly is this thing?

Wow.

I'm looking at one that I will be updating soon. Only difference is mine has a 500mhz PIII and a little over 300mb's of RAM.

I feel swindled!

It is an old 600 series from around 1999 or so, I would guesstimate -- probably a Pentium II processor, so obviously the "type 1951" and 2006 copyright date show that the sticker on the bottom is from a MUCH newer system, or more likely, a forgery  (and not a very good one!)

I sent the seller a message asking why he's trying to pass off a ten-year old ThinkPad as a T60. I can't wait for the response.

:D

Currently shows "0 bids". Looks like both people withdrawn once the description has been changed. I doubt anyone will bid on it now. :)

Bizarre.... The T60 sticker looks phoney but the model number on the bottom (1951) is a T60. The palmrest could be a non-touchpad T60, were it not for the speakers (?!)

Bottom line, I guess, is to steer clear of it.

It must be a bargain. Shipping was under $5.

The ebay seller is obviously daydreaming, even after some people try to wake him/her up.

It seems he/she is not the only gay who fell into daydreaming and refused to wake up.

Don't you see I have a good laugh every time I read wild_bill's thread, and not just this one. :D

Funny...in a way!

A few years back they were doing that around here(EDT: Metro Detroit Area)!!! They would get laptops and "clean them up", put graphics card and processor stickers and sell them(as something they were not)...a lot of people got taken.

Please clarify "around here", as in where you live and not on this forum. Correct? We're pretty stoked about the almost flawless record of exemplary sales on our own Marketplace forum...don't want to tarnish that record. :|

Reminds me a bit of this - wventhough this "T60" is "mild" in comparison: http://www.insidebayarea.com/dailyrevie ... i_13032102, but with that TV you would be in for some "steamy" action.

Unbeliable how little the seller even tries to pursue this issue of clearing up the mess, but stops at the stage of this might be a 600 or T60 whatever. Apart from the missing key, it seems to be a decent, below normal wear 600 series Thinkpad with no HDD and likely no RAM either.
