T40p does not show BIOS screen on power up

i bought a 20" Apple Cinema Display earlier today and connected this to my T40p, the t40p is docked on a port replicator (the 4 port version) with both VGA and DVI connect out ports.

the ACD is hooked up thru DVI and laptop lid is closed, when i try turning the laptop on, the ACD is just blank, when i try opening the laptop lid, the screen is also blank. The laptop doesnt proceed to the IBM logo screen. It only proceeds to the IBM logo when the t40p is undocked (while still on).

I've updated the video display drivers to the latest ATI versions, BIOS has already been updated to the latest version too (at least, the 2007 version from the lenovo site).

Can anyone shed any insight as to why the laptop doesnt boot up with the ACD is hooked up, or any tips on i can have this working.

here's some good news, installed the Omega drivers and now monitor resolution is fine, though im still having problems with booting up the laptop with the ACD attached.

i read somewhere that the T40p (thru DVI) is unable to power up (or meet electric requirements) the ACD on pre bios boot. can anyone be able to confirm this? would there be a possible solution for this? i would really like to keep my current setup, ACD + docked (closed) T40p.
