making rescue and recovery disks

#1 Post by joseph » Sun Feb 14, 2010 11:55 am

How do you make/copy the rescue and recovery disks on the T61? I can only find options to copy my entire HD but not to create rescue and recovery disks. It doesn't seem as obvious as on my old T42, or maybe I'm just completely overlooking it?

There would be an option under 'Thinkvantage' to 'create recovery media' if someone has not already done it. Lenovo only gives you one attempt at that, then the option disappears. All this assumes that you have a valid recovery partition that is functional.

You can make more than one set of recovery disks.

1) Make a set

2) Recover from that set

3) Go back to (1) if you want to make another set.

This validates the recovery set made in (1).

Why not just make copies of the set made in (1)? :)
