I have an older A20m (type 2628) here with a Celeron 500. WinXP recognized the sound card to be a Crystal SoundFusion and installed drivers for it, but no sound comes out of the speakers. I know it's not a hardware problem because the sound worked in Win98 before I formatted. After XP was installed, I could hear that calm music on the first menu screen before the desktop is displayed. That was the only sound that worked in XP.
I also tried installing the Crystal SoundFusion drivers from the IBM site. Device manager has no quarrels, but still, no sound comes out of either the onboard speakers nor the headphone port.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
