I have a G40 laptop I bought off ebay a few months ago. It had a fan error which i got fixed with a little solder on the fan connectors joints. Now this unit has a 3.3ghz i think in it. And it gets super hot! I dont want a repeat of the solder going bad. I wanted to down grade the processor. I tried a few different P4's like 2.4ghz, and 2.5ghz which I cross referenced with my 3.3ghz but does processor wont boot. Don't know why. Anyway knows exact model number of P4 processor that will work on this laptop?
thanks
