Thinkpad T61 Docking Station dual monitor issue

#1 Post by delaneybob » Wed Feb 17, 2010 3:50 pm

Hi,
I have the big docking station for thinkpad. It has a DVI and a VGA monitor output. I am trying to hook up an HP high quality monitor that ONLY has DVI inputs as PRIMARY. The NEC,other monitor, has both. Think pad supposedly ONLY supports VGA as the primary.

Can someone confirm or provide a suggestion?
Using the DVI as primary causes major issues 9(lock ups, all monitors going blank etc)

Much appreciated
Just trying to avoid my companies standard image load :-)

Never heard of this "supposedly only support VGA as primary". Thinkpads work just fine in general with the DVI being primary, as well as only monitor.

There is a BIOS setting to control where to output the signal during startup (DVI, VGA, internal LCD, or any 2 of the 3). I don't think it should make any difference, but give it a shot.
