I have searched this problem with no luck re: my particular problem; any help will be appreciated.
Problem: getting message “There is not enough free space in the boot sector to install R&R.”
Situation: T60 with clean HD and Win XP Pro loaded from OS Disk [not recovery from factory install].
The HD was low-level formatted by DFT before installing WXP Pro. There are no partitions on the hard drive [all one partition].
Downloaded the R&R file from Lenovo and program starts to load and the InstallShield Wizard begins, but stops when it generates the above message.
Is there a way to increase the size of the boot sector, or is that the MBR which I assume I can’t touch?
T60 trying to install Lenovo R&R
Re: T60 trying to install Lenovo R&R
You could probably increase the size of the boot sector with gparted, partition magic or similar programs. You would boot the CD to change partition sizes. There is always a little risk involved when doing this.

Re: T60 trying to install Lenovo R&R
I'm skeptical about messing with the MBR - too much can go wrong.
