Thinpad type 2681

When i push te startbutton i hear just a little beep and nothing happens.
No powerlights,no nothing.
Doe somebody have a solution for this ?

To save others the trouble of searching, that's an R40 with Mobility Radeon 7500. The Hardware Maintenance Manual is here.

Thanks for the link.
But it's not a bios beep.
The laptop won't turn on,when i push the powerbutton the only thing that happens is a tiny little beep.
Almost not to hear it,its on the back of the laptop.
Adapter is working fine,but when i put it in the laptop,no light no nothing.

Remove all the RAM from the machine and unplug the battery, hard and media drives.

Plug the adapter in and try to power on.

Does it beep?
