Can I use 18.5V AC adapter on T42?

#1 Post by laramis » Sat Feb 20, 2010 8:57 am

Lost the original 16V adapter for my T42 but have an HP 18.5V adapter with the right plug and with enough current. Is this safe to use on the T42, or do I need to drop the voltage down to 16V first? If so, what is the easiest (i.e. cheapest) way to do this? Series diodes?

TIA for any responses !!

Welcome to the forum!

You'll fry the machine if you use the wrong adapter.

Post a WTB (want to buy) ad in the forum's marketplace and you'll walk away with one shortly...
