Creating Recovery Partition

#1 Post by brucehe » Sat Feb 20, 2010 4:20 pm

Hello all,

I cloned a hard drive from a t60 that has a working recovery partition to a hard drive from another t60. Both partitions look fine using disk manager and the machine boots up. However the recovery partition does not work. When I hit the thinkvantage button or f11 it comes up with "missing operating system". I used Clonezilla and it does ask for the NTFS partition if you want to install a boot loader which I did and it works fine however it does not give you that option with the recovery partition I copied.

Is there some way to repair the recovery partition to make it active?

Thanks,

Bruce

Hello,

I had a set of recovery Cd's so I just did a recovery using the CD's and its puts the recovery partition back on the hard drive. That took a bit of time but it worked.

thanks,

Bruce
