Need advice

Hi guys

I currently own T400. Screen on my laptop is absolutely horrible, I read on this forum that only tablet pcs (thinkpads) have better screens. But I understand that there are several different options even between tablet pcs (thinkpads only). Since I'm planning to read a lot of book I'm looking for the best screen possible, I'm willing to spend up to $1000, laptop can be used or outlet. I guess my question is which thinkpad today have decent screen? I'm mostly looking at X60/61 or x200 (possibly tablet versions)

If you are going to get an X200, I'd go for the AFFS mod. See this thread -

You are correct in that many Thinkpad tablets have an IPS flexview LCD, one of the best. The only decent LCD I've run across on a recent model non-tablet is on a T500 (WSXGA+), and even that is no comparison to the older IPS flexview LCD's like in the T60P series. Other than that, the latest model LCD's are not very good.

I've got the SXGA+ panel in my X61 tablet. It is The Best: colors are great, it's viewable from pretty much any angle, and the picture with these tres dense pixels is crisp and clean. It's not very bright, which makes it hard to use outdoors, but I don't do that much.
