T400(s) eSATA port mulitplier compatible?

Are the eSATA ports on the T400(s) and on the "Mini Dock Plus Series 3" port multiplier compatible?
I plan to connect an external case like the followin

When we did have the T400s (now RETURNED due to LACK OF missing ADVERTISED feature..... blah blah) ,,,,,, we did have them hooked up to one of these ,,,, and worked nicely

hard to say if ICYDOCK wont work ? for me esata port(s) ports should be ESATA ports ,,,, its ought to be universial as USB ports? ..... but then who can say with LENOVO these days with their systems !!

Your answer was very helpful, because it shows that port multiplier connections principially work. I can still choose wich external enclosure to use.

What are the advertised features the T400s is lacking?
