What is the minimum number of dead pixels to return Thinkpads?

I found answer
at least 11 bright dots or
13 dark dots or
16 bright and dark dots.
These are for SXGA+ (1400*1050)

last i heard..

not absolutely..
several stuck on pixels in at least one large group which appears as a dot will likely be good cause for replacement..

this is a very subjective thing..
several single stuck on pixels scattered about will NOT likely generate a replacement..

Hi. I just (twenty minutes ago) took delivery of a new T42. There's one persistent little green dot showing on screen. Very evident on dark background, not on white. Is there a way to tell if that's just one pixel or a group of pixels?

THANKS

Yikes. If I had 12 dark dots on my thinkpad and couldn't return it I think i would jump of a bridge or something. :o

As it is, I have 3 (I think) greyish dots about 2 inches off centre. Its annoying, but I can hardly notice them (only when a white window is over them. Wow though, I had no idea that their quality control had gotten that bad. OTOH SXGA is a LOT of pixies.

Run PC-Doctor, it should be preinstalled. It has a test to find dead pixels.

Zero dead pixels are acceptable to me. Why should anyone pay $1800+ for anything less.

I have been lucky thus far with my laptop screens.
