So I'm having a weird issue. We have about eleven T400 series laptops that were downgraded to Windows XP SP3. (from Vista) When I adjust the volume, I get this distorted sounding PC speaker beep. This sound also comes up when any of our users gets new mail in Outlook. All other sound is fine. I can go into the control panel to test the sounds and they are fine there.
It's ONLY when a new message is recived or the volume is adjusted.
So far I've tried:
Setting the default sounds in the control panel.
Changing the sound to something different.
Updating the sound drivers. Currently at 3.64.10.51 which is the latest from lenovo.
Anyone have any ideas?
