W510 Accessories

I was excited when I ordered my W510 in early February and ordered a few extras the week after I put the order in but before I received the unit.

I called Lenovo parts and asked them about what fit in my newly ordered unit (4318-CTO).

I ordered a Ultra Bay III battery (I have been using one with my older T43), the Lenovo Constant Connect for Blackberry and a 90W power supply for travel versus the brick that is the original issue.

Well, after receiving my unit and the parts, I found that the battery will not work with the laptop. I did receive an 100% RMA after 30 minutes of pressing buttons and being transferred and stating the same thing to multiple people.

I also found that the Lenovo Constant Connect unit shipped doesn't fit my Express Card slot. I have had 5 previous TP and never seen a narrow Express Card but my W510 has something less than the standard 54mm version. Is there such a thing as a card that fits the narrow Express Card slot?

Anyway, now I need to get an RMA for the Lenovo Constant Connect express card. At least the power supply is working...

Anyone else find challenges in finding add-on parts for their W510? Suggestions?

There are 34mm slots. I purchased a 1 Port Slim ExpressCard 34mm eSATA II Controller Adapter Card for my T60.

W510 batteries can now be ordered from Lenovo. Part number is 51J0500 The picture is wrong, but the 55++ description is correct.
