WTB X31 - FOUND

#1 Post by seaweedsl » Fri Mar 05, 2010 3:38 pm

Thinkpadders:

I'm looking to buy an inexpensive X31. My step-daughter needs something for school here in Mexico*. Budget is low : $150 + but I do already have some RAM, a BT radio and extra HD if any of those help keep the cost down.

Dock and optical drive would be nice...good battery also helps push the budget up...

Functional quality is important but degraded cosmetics or signs of use not so much.

* Shipping will be to Denver, CO

Cheers,
Steve

Just a FYI point here, I recently got an X31 on eBay, with 512MB RAM, good battery and in pretty much perfect condition. With fast external USB CD-RW/DVD and the Port Replicator dock. £139 ($200)

Took a bit of watching, though!

I have a nice x31 with 2 GB of ram, factory bluetooth installed, and a 32 GB Runcore SSD drive. I have 2 batteries which are holding a decent charge (I have not timed them but I'm confident it is more that 1 hour for each battery, they are OEM IBM batteries).

Also I will include a second x31 complete unit (it is in decent condition, it ran fine and then just quit, I think the motherboard went bad, this unit has 1 GB of ram, and the original 40 GB drive with windoz xp).

I have not noticed any pixels out in either unit. The first unit is my mobile machine and the second unit I bought just for backup parts.

I am running i7 and c2d quad processor desktops each with 8 GBs of ram at home. My plan is to buy a x200 (I already have an AFFS screen to install into a x200). But as of now for my mobile usage the x31 performs quite well (I am runnning Arch Linux with xfce).

You may check out my seller & buyer ratings at ebay under the same user name. If you are interested in the x31 for $250 through paypal, includes shipping in the USA, then send a PM.
x60 (T7200), 3.2GB ram & X200s (L9400), 8GB ram both have a 256GB EVO drive with bios flashed to Libreboot & running Parabola GNU/Linux
