Is 3-year standard warranty still available?

#1 Post by iadorjan » Fri Mar 05, 2010 8:18 pm

I bought my T60 from Euclid Computers back in 2007 and it came with a standard 3-year warranty. They seem to be out of business, but have been browsing top-seller T400's at Costcentral, and they all come with only 1-year warranty. The strangest thing is that a few weeks ago they still had some of the same models with the 3-year warranty in stock, so I was wondering if there has been some change in Lenovo's policy in not offering 3-year warranties any more (unless you buy directly from them and upgrade to multi-year options when ordering a CTO model online). Any help please?

Check with Lenovo if you can order a three year warranty option after a purchase. I bought my T410 with "discounts" and picked the three year onsite warranty. That already paid for its self when I had the LCD replaced for an manufacturing defect (Air bubbles) at my place instead of shipping it off to be EZserv'd. I didn't realize you could *demand* for them to honor the onsite warranty with the T43 and ended up with many, many scratches on the lid thanks to EZserv. ("Depot" warranty.)

If you look at the Tabook, you will find quite a few models with standard 3yr warranties. You can then search for them at online retailers using the 7-character model number.
Current: X220 4291-4BG, T410 2537-R46, T60 1952-F76, T60 2007-QPG, T42 2373-F7G
Collectibles: T430s (IPS FHD + Classic Keyboard), X32 (IPS Screen)
Retired: X61 7673-V2V, A31p w/ Ultrabay Numpad
Past: Z61t 9440-A23, T60 2623-D3U, X32 2884-M5U
