Help needed: T42p not booting up.

Hello.

A friend's T42p was on while he was using a nebulizator. The machine screen turned to funny colors as a result of the fine steam coming from the device.
So then he powered it off, powered again fine, but after a few minutes a black screen.
Then the machine just wouldn't turn on the screen.

The Z and battery icons would lit up, the fan keeps spinning, but no boot.

It would seem as if the video chip was, but I'm not sure if I should dissasembly it and let the motherboard dry the humidity.

Any way of troubleshooting this?

What medication was in the nebulizer may also be a thing to consider...I'd say tear the machine down, leave the board in the oven at low heat overnight, and pray to the deity of your choice that it comes back...

I think it was water but not sure

Should I completely dissasembly the machine? the motherboard be put apart?

Nebulizer is normally used with medication meant to improve breathing such as Albuterol or Pulmicort...

And yes, the board should come out IMHO, sooner the better...

thanks for the reply ajkula66, seems my buddy seems inclined to get another Thinkpad (it's his first laptop).
