so I love my Z61t, but I am wondering if it is possible to install a WWAN module if it did not ship with one. specifically, a GSM WWAN module (leasing my soul to VZW is not something I am comfortable with, but that's peripheral to the issue).
were internal GSM modules actually released for the Z61t, or were they PC card/USB type only? (I would much prefer the internal route if at all possible).
just nagging curiousity.

Re: WWAN on z61t
Yes, of course. There were Z61t's shipped with WWAN enabled. You'll need the WWAN miniPCIe card, the antenna, and the antenna cover (which looks like a small bulge on the side of the LCD bezel).
Now, if you want to install a WWAN module different from those originally available for Z61t, you may run into a problem with the BIOS not recognizing it (or anything not specifically on the whitelist), and then you may require BIOS hacks.

Re: WWAN on z61t
the BIOS issue is the bit that concerns me, especially as I've only ever heard of Z61t's with VZW WWAN onboard.

Re: WWAN on z61t
My z61t came with a Verizon (I think) WWAN card and antenna. I swapped it into another machine since I don't use WWAN (along with the antenna).
