Not sure what you think of, I wouldn't use them as my primary source for hi-fi music if you know what I mean...

There is a official respond from Lenovo right now @:

It is a driver problem...

The X200 has a metal lid (and bottom) that is quite rigid. No flex. Does the X201 have a plastic lid that bends easily?

The X200s doesn't have the same lid though -- the WXGA+ ones have the carbon-fiber top case which is *very* flexible. While it is very, very susceptible to torsion it's at least very resistant to downward pressure when closed

That sounds exactly like the X201s. Crazy susceptible to torsional stress but pretty solid still. It's a price I'm willing to pay for lightweight, it was just surprising.

I tried someone's idea that install the Windows 7 Utimate inestead of the original Win 7 home premium. Both speakers are working fine now! Glad the hardware has no issue.

I'm running a new Ultimate install, and don't have stereo working.

Also, it's mono in Linux as well.

Did you install all the drivers? and also try to go to the sound setting, test the hardware.

Yeah, I did that. Even sent it into Lenovo (who sent it back without it being fixed...hopefully Ken@Lenovo is right about a fix being released shortly).

I've got the appropriate drivers, I've played with the mixer, I have left speaker only, no matter where I set the balance. If it were something simple, I'd have it fixed by now.

ohhh,

well I hope lenovo will release the new drivers asap. for mine the right was not working in win 7 home pre, somehow it works after i installed utimate version. anyway i think the right side speaker has no hardware issue otherwise the right one could be stanby when the left one is break.....

Here's a link to the updated driver for the x201:

I've linked to the updated drivers on the first post as well.

Can someone add to the lid flexing? Is it really an issue on the X201? Am in the market for one. Thanks.
