Removing bloatware

#1 Post by blote » Thu Mar 11, 2010 9:00 pm

I recently ordered a T410 which might arrive tomorrow (does customs always take a long time?). I plan on removing the bloatware as soon as possible. I have read that many people will reinstall Windows for a fresh start, but I don't have a Windows 7 64 bit DVD. Are there any strategies for removing the preinstalled software? Can I do it all from add/remove programs? Is there a list somewhere of the programs that Lenovo bundles? I'd really like to have a nice clean slate to start with.

There's very little bloatware on a T40 unless you count the ThinkVantage Tools, which some do. You can remove whatever software you wish from add/remove programs.

Make sure to create a set of Recovery CDs/DVDs before you start messing!
