Well, not exactly free - you will have to pay 100$ + shipping and you won't have an iPad for a couple of days. But, come on - why can't Apple place a detachable battery instead of this crazy system ? "Think different" - yeah, that's why ...

IBM TP T42, IBM TP 390X, IBM TP 701C, IBM TP 560X, IBM TP 600 plus a ThinkVision L150p 15.0-inch LCD Monitor. Also a DELL AXIM v5 as an iPod (cheaper and has more features than Apple's stuff...).

it's the only way Apple are going to sell more than 5 of these!

So techically, Apple have just reduced the price of the iPad then, and not made it free.
