Thinkpad t43 survived a spill but..

#1 Post by ewalker3 » Mon Mar 15, 2010 9:54 pm

a cokezero took a spill on my beloved thinkpad earlier today. After taking it apart and cleaning it out. Everything appears to be working except the two left click mouse buttons(above and below the trackpad) dont work.

any idea if there is a part i can change out to get it to work?

thanks

You can try and take off the left mousekey on the keyboard. Clean it up properly with e.g. isopropyl alcohol.
You can buy a new/used mousekey for it on eBay for a few $$. Or scrounge it off an old T4x keyboard.

You ran replace the "touchpad with keys" unit itself, or get a complete palmrest with touchpad.

If you go this route, I just happen to have a nice palmrest available (if we're talking about a 15" machine). :?
