After researching the best portable speakers for my iPod i came to the realization that i have my computer with me just as often as the iPizzle....

Can anyone recommend a high quality speaker for my T42... keeping in mind portability along with sound quality... this is something i would carry around with me in a back pack...

leave links if you have...

grazie

Try headphones : Sennheiser HD600's or HD25's for example, nice and compact, no mains supply needed etc.

Another very nice sounding and very light-weight stereo loudspeaker sets come from JBL (oh I love James B. Lansings loudspeakers) and they would even fit perfectly to the design and shape of your iPod:

As far as I remember, IBM used for some formerly TP series JBL loudspeakers also. For their size they sound unbelievable good

Creative-Labs offer also some very small stereo speaker units but I do not believe so much in their sound quality. However, if you find a place you can listen in reality to them they are maybe worth a try:

I've not actually heard these speakers, but if they live up to Altec Landisng's standards, they should be wonderfull for not having a subwoofer... that'll be your killer... you won't have good frequency response below about 120 Hz because that takes a physically larger speaker... lol.. but that's getting in too deep...
