1.86ghz Core 2 vs i7 2.13ghz What to buy?
I just spent some time researching this but not much came of it. Basically I am debating if buying an x201 tablet vs x200 tablet is worth the extra $800+. It seems to me that the only (main) difference between the two is the processor.
I currently do all of my work on a T61 loaded with 3gig of ram, core 2 duo 2.2ghz, 7200rmp HD, all bells and whistles. However, I want to replace it with a tablet so that I can also retire my T41 tablet and just do everything on one computer.
I multitask a lot, 20+ tabs open in firefox/IE, music streaming on zune software, outlook open, various word docs, photoshop, few pdf files open, exel, one note, and messenger just now. Not to mention the other underlying processes, anti-virus, etc. Other than multitasking a lot, I don't do much else. I don't play games on my PC anymore or watch movies too often. I mainly use my computer for multitasking a lot while working. Then I hibernate it or put it to sleep and pick up where I left off the next day.
Will the x200 tablet with the 1.86ghz core two duo workout for me to do the above? I'm planning to get it loaded with windows 7 64bit, 4gig of ram and 7200rpm HD.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

From your uses I would bet that having more memory is more important than processor speed in this case. So having 4GB of RAM would be the important factor here.
If I were you I would save that $800 and max out RAM and get an SSD or 7200RPM drive if you need more disk space.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking along the same lines as you here. Definitely need tons of HD space, so 7200 is my option. Let's see if someone else seconds going for the x200 table.

I second the X200-T because it is far cheaper, and nearly the same performance. I think the C2D will be fine for your needs, and 4GB of ram will also be fine.
Maybe even save the $ and order it with a 5400rpm drive, and upgrade to an optimum 7200 drive (that way you can keep the 5400rpm drive, and have a drive potentially faster than what Lenovo offers).
