A31p wireless upgrade

#1 Post by mjk » Sun Feb 27, 2005 7:08 am

I have just installed the atheros 11a/b/g card into an A31p. I used 1802.com to get round the card id check, but currently the card is still not working. Widows (XP SP2) reports that the card cannot start.

I also get a BIOS message at boot time about finding more than one ethernet device, and directing me to remove one.

Has anyone suceeded in getting this card working in an A31p?

Martin

Hello mjk,

if You did a scan of postings here, I think You 'ld find advice, that in order to use such a minipci-card You need to patch Your TP's bios before...

Otherwise Your notebook won't recognize the "stranger" inside...

started with IBM-XT (80186) and AST-Ascentias NB (910N) in the 90ties, relying on Thinkpads (770X, A31Ps) until 2012,
now using an upgraded T60-61P "Frankenpad" (15"UXGA-LED Penryn 8GB 500GB/7200), and an X201/X230T (i7 8/16GB/500GB) Windows10
