W510 Port Replicator
W510 Port Replicator
Could someone point me in the right direction for which type of Docking station I can use with the W510? I'm thinking that the 2504 will work but I wanted to confirm this. and then with that said I'm sure that I will need to have a 135Watt Power Brick for it? Can some confirm this for me?

Re: W510 Port Replicator
hi rc.....
I am not sure which of the replicator you looking to get.....
best way to find them ( and able to see which features and functions you want) is to try and 'configure a T510' on line .... that way it gives you/shows the OPTIONS AVALIBLE of various REPLICATORS.
I have a 433820U for my home office in USA, and it Ships with a 135-watt ac adapter ...yes the BULKYONE !!!
from what I have seen this 'bulky adaptor' is BECAUSE of NUMBER OF PORTS that this replictor needs to 'power' eg :
>6 USB 2.0 ports
>Multiple video ports: 1 VGA monitor, 2 DVI, 2 DisplayPort
>Video controller
>Audio ports: Analog microphone in, headphone out
>e-SATA storage connector (((this is major reason I got this REPLICATOR)))
>RJ-45 Ethernet port .....
PLUS.. also CONCURRENTLY Charge the DOCKED LAPTOP
......well;hope this helps ..
Cheers

Re: W510 Port Replicator
Thanks for the response ausmike.
I guess that what I'm hoping for is that I could purchase a ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock 2504-10U off of ebay on the cheap and then just purchase an additional 135W power brick and be ready to roll for about a 50 bucks cheaper or more than having to buy it through Lenovo. My goal is that I would like to have a Docking station at home, and the two office location I work out of. which would basically say I would need to buy three docking stations. At Lenovo prices this would be very expensive., but if I go the ebay route I could save a bundle. Just wanted to confirm with some who has this type of setup and see if it worked form them. Thanks in advance for any info you may have

Re: W510 Port Replicator
AFAIK 2504 will not work with T510/W510. I believe you need to buy the new Mini Dock Series 3 (hopefully I got the name correct) for W510...rcepek wrote:Thanks for the response ausmike.
