Think T40 9-cell aftermarket battery

#1 Post by synergy » Thu Mar 25, 2010 12:39 pm

Hi
My battery for the T40 has been dead for few years now.
I'd like to get a new battery but the genuine ones are not worth a price and the third party ones are questionable at best.
So the question is, how reliable is the third party batteries sold on ebay?
How many charges do they hold and how long do they last compared to the genuine ones?

Would I be better off if I go with the used genuine battery that's been recharged few times?

Thanks.

In September 2009 I bought a replacement 9-cell battery for my wife's T43p. It was supplied by a firm in the UK (so not much use telling you their name) for under GBP 50 (approx USD 75).

It works a treat. The 30 mins of power available with the old battery is now close to 3 hours.

Would I buy one from ebay? No, because I like the benefit of a genuine warranty.
