What would be the best solution for high battery consumption work in a place where there are no electrical outlets?

Perhaps a second 9 cell battery? They're $44 in the outlet right now.

Undervolt, if using windows, try NHC, Rmclock, or CPUgenie. Linux PHC.

Turn screen brightness down. Way down. Off when you aren't looking.

Go into BIOS and disable whatever you aren't using, modem, serial, parrallel, wifi, bluetooth, usb, ethernet, etc.

Each of the three above can be big.

Smaller help:

If using 1g+1g, try 2g sodimm instead. If using 2g+1g and you are sure the 1g is providing 0 benefit with your software, remove it.

Put computer on aluminum tray so fan can run less often.
Moved to Chrome OS, so... SK-8855 USB Keyboard
