Numeric keyboard function switch

#1 Post by megascribe » Sun Mar 28, 2010 12:13 pm

I'm having a problem that's driving me crazy. My T40p has a Numeric keyboard function that allows one to change alphanumeric keys to numeric ones on the fly - like "i" to "5". I activated it somehow last night and forgot how to turn it off. I tried the Fn keys, but none of them seem to work. Could some kind soul out there tell me the right key combination to switch it off. Actually, I'd like to turn this feature off permanently. It's a pain in the neck when you' re typing along and your letters turn into numbers. I run a dual boot with XP and Win 7, but I only have this problem with XP.

Try checking the keys to the immediate right of the power on button. On my UK keyboard there is a ScrLk key with, above in small letters, NumLk. This could be the way to change things back ... shift key and ScrLk.

I hope that this makes sense and is of help.
