X600troubles

#1 Post by unclebill » Wed Mar 31, 2010 1:27 pm

Hi, I was wondering if there is any help out there for a problem I am having.

I picked up an X600 & docking station at a yard sale (free actually) and it bootted to the windows xp that was installed. It had a second partition that was inaccessable of 7+gigs and I removed the partition repartitioned it and defragged the C drive. when it startrd back up all I get is NTLDR is missing. I assume it is now trying to boot on the new partition w/o an OS instea o C where windows s loaded... or perhaps there is another problem.

Can anyone help?

I o not have the XP disk and there is no CD.

how can I get back to C to access windows?

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

Unless I missed something recently, there are no X600 laptops from IBM or Lenovo. Do you mean 600X? or X60?

Without knowing exactly what you did when you removed and/or re-partitioned the drive, it's hard to say what to do next. Worst case is you'll have to re-install an OS; best case is maybe you can use some software tools to replace your missing NTLDR file. Google "missing NTLDR" and you'll find several helpful sites like this one:
