T40 Memory

#1 Post by le_porquer » Fri Apr 02, 2010 5:10 pm

Hi,

I have a 512mb memory stick extracted from a T30 that I want to use in my T40...

Its an official IBM part. It says "512MB 2Rx16 PC2-4200S" part number IBM FRU 73P3843 DIMM.

Can the T40 take this?

Thanks.

Your T30 would never have worked with that, and neither can your T40!
T30/T40 only take DDR PC-2100 or PC-2700.

The module you refer to is DDR2 or PC2 and can be used e.g. in a T43/R52 or higher.
