T43 battery recall question

#1 Post by Indy452 » Sat Apr 03, 2010 6:17 pm

I just picked up a nice T43 today and since the hd was formated i decided to run a nice linux flavor on it..

Well, after the installation I get an icon notice about the battery...something about it being recalled so i go to the web page it links too and I can't run the windows based file for seeing if my battery is one of the recalled battery's so....Is there another way to tell?

That just means that the FRU of your battery matches ones that were recalled. I've seen that several times on T4x and X6x machines in Linux, but none of the actual batteries were subject to a recall.

There is a program on Lenovo's site, but that only runs under Windows. I believe that there's an option somewhere to manually enter the serial from the battery, but I haven't looked at that in a very long time...

Good luck.
