Hello all,
Recently we bought a new LG LCD TV, which has a VGA input. I finally can hook up my T61, a 7662-CTO.
The computer is running Windows 7 x64 Professional.
When I did so, it seemed to work fantastically for anywhere from 1 - 5 minutes, then blue screens with a short description about not being able to reset the video driver. So I uninstalled the ThinkPad drivers and went and got the newest reference drivers off of NVidia's site. Same problem, except the last time I did it on reboot I got these vertical lines about 1 inch apart on both the intial boot "Thinkpad" screen and on the loading windows screen, and it wouldn't load. This problem persisted after unplugging/removing the battery.
The only thing that fixed it was letting windows run its startup-repair program and finish, then it booted back to normal. The startup repair program didn't find any issues, but I feel that it did something to reset the video card.
The VGA out worked fine on a projector at work last Thursday, and I've only used that particular plug on projectors. DVI-out from a dock to a large monitor at work also works perfectly.
The TV doesn't cause any problems with VGA out on an older HP laptop we've got lying around, and I'm going to try it on a new desktop here shortly, as I want to get the TV replaced if it has a problem, although I doubt it is the TV.
Has anyone seen this? It is a hardware problem or inherent flaw? Is there anything I can do?

Re: T61 - NVS140 and broken VGA out to LCD TV
Update:
The problem now occurs on the primary monitor under all situations. Luckily I found out that my warranty lasts through November - usually I don't buy these things but this time it has paid for itself many times over. This is my 3rd planar board to go out, and all with different problems.
I wish they would just give me a new computer at this point. I feel like I got a lemon. I really don't abuse the computer at all.
